The bikes at Wal-Mart will just be a waste of your money. Try looking on Craigs List for a used bike locally. You will find that you will get more bang for your buck this way. Good luck with the search; hope you find one!

Actually, that Mongoose doesn't look too bad.

If you go for that one, try to get one that's unassembled and still in the box, the assemblers at Wally World tend to be rather 'iffy'. If you put it together yourself you know it will be done right.

If I do get that mongoose I would get it online shipped unassembled. As far as the craigs go I live in the Sacramento California area and everyone pretty much just sells fixed and bmx. I would even be willing to geta fixed gear, but they want way too much for them.

Lot's of deals on CL in your area, I'm in NorCal myself. I found these in less than 5 minutes (just put in your max dollar amount in the filter, then search. If you look everyday, you will find a deal. Look at the first link, great bike, not a lot of cash; it's how I found a great deal on my mtb.

    Check these out:

    K2 El Dorado Mountain Bike

Raleigh M50 Aluminum Men's 17.5 inch Mountain Bike w/Rock Shox

That chart is a good starting point. But could really depend on more than your height as some people are long/short legged. Stop in at a local bike shop and get fitted.

Good news! I just got a job so I can actually spend whatever I feel on a bicycle. So now I have to figure out what is good for me.

Thanks! All I have to do is pass a drug test tomorrow. But thanks to some detox ****, I;m not too worried about it. I plan on getting a nice bike that I can have for like ten+ years.
