I'd have to say that my two favorite hikes are Maryland Heights and Annapolis Rocks. Both are less than an hour drive from my house. Maryland Heights is a large rock outcropping that overlooks Harpers Ferry, a cival war town in WV that sits between the Potomac and Shennandoah rivers. Annapolis Rocks are along the Appalachain trail near Myersville, MD.

Hophead I picked up the AT in Harpers Ferry last year and headed south for a few days.

Sweet! Did you climb Maryland heights while you were there? I spend a lot of time at Harpers Ferry. It's only about a 45 minute drive from my house.

Didnt make it there. I started from the park visitor's center and headed south for a few days. When i came back for my truck it was getting late so i headed to Secret 6 for a few cocktails and then hit the road. The area seemed fun,i would love to get back down there and check more stuff out.

Too bad. The view is awesome from the top.

Ahhh yes, The Secret Six Tavern. Been there many times. I named my racing team after that place.

I love hiking, but there is a rather limited amount of decent trails in my area. I was in bliss when I went to the rocky mountain nation park last June, 40 mph winds, snow and 20 degree weather were not enough to keep me off the trails there.

I was just there on Saturday. Hiking at 12,000' is exhausting! The weather conditions were pretty good. It got down to 49 and rained a little, but otherwise it was awesome!
