Here's a pic of my 2009 Trek 1.2. Great bike and I love it riding it. This pic was taken right after purchase and I hadn't sized it yet, that's why the seat is so low in the pic. I also recently lowered the handlebars by removing the spacers and putting them on top.
I rode a friend's Trek on a long distance ride and the stock saddle didn't mesh at all with my build. Is the stock saddle on your 1.2 working well for you?
I looked at one at the LBS today. None of the bike shops near me ever seem to have what I'm looking for, but if I need an $8k road bike, they'll hook me up.
Dean, I have a trek and have sat others. None of the saddles could I stand for more than 15 minutes. Thought I was going to be split in half. Crotch numbness is an issue with me. The trek design doesn't work for my butt either.
Dean, No and in fact I can only stand 25 miles with bike shorts on before I have to get off and I'm sore for a few days. I haven't had the time with college, work and home responsibilities to research and replace the saddle.
Oddly, the saddle on my Wabi Classic, which someone referred to rather derisively, is very comfortable. Minimal padding, but flexes just right.
The human bum is so different among persons. I can't tolerate a narrow saddle at all. Unless I'm time trialing, I never wear padded riding shorts and have absolutely no problems with jeans or jean shorts. I do use a slightly wider saddle. Like you see on entry-level MTBs. Can ride any kind of pant or short on this type saddle for as long as I like.
It's not because they're "Sora" but because the second shifter is up on the hood and I need to come out of the drops to shift.
I don't need new shifters but I would like a set that I don't have to reach over to shift when in drops.
