my user name is hippiebikerchick which pretty much says it all. I am a solitary long distance road biker of a "certain age" who took up road biking 4 years ago and has been in love ever since.
In the interim, I have lost 1/3 of a person and 10 years in age- or at least that's what it feels like.
I train in and around the suburbs of SW Houston, mostly solo or on occassion with "the SAG guy", my husband of 37 years.
Every year I do 6-12 century rides locally for charity as well as a cross country ride for breast cancer.
This year the cross country ride was from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL along the southern tier.
I have been in recovery mode for most of the summer but am now starting up again with my trainer and riding to get ready for the various fall rides.
I ride a 2004 Trek pilot 5.1 with aerobars and when I grow up or for my 65th birthday, I want a custom painted, custom designed Trek Madone or the equivalent. I have already started saving my coins.
Glad to be here
