Excellent description of why I don't live in cold climates.

Particularly correct with the socks .... Nothing like being tremendously fat, wearing tights and shorts, and trying to reach down to take off and re-don undersocks, socks, and shoes ..... I work up a pre-ride sweat just trying to get ready.

Is it worh having to live in hot, sweaty suburbia? Not sure. But it is wonderful to read all that after having just got back from a ride where prep was ultra-basic.
