Chris from East Northport, Suffolk County, Long Island, NY, USA, Earth.

Bought a Trek 7100 a year and a half ago, just getting serious in the last month. Signed up for the NYC 5-borough bike tour on May 2, which is 42 miles (or 34 if you're bringing up the rear - they shortcut you). Longest ride I've done so far is 20 miles, so I'm counting on adrenaline for May 2. I figure if I do 10-15 miles every other day until then, I should be OK.

My legs already feel less rubbery. Early this spring I did 17 miles along the Bethpage Parkway, then went to a favorite restaurant for lunch. I got out of the car and almost fell down, I was walking like Groucho Marx.
