i been riding mtn bikes for years & am looking for a road bike.
I not gonna buy top but dont want anything cheap
something middle of the road

They dont have to be on the market. I am looking on ebay & craigslist.

I am a trek fan.

Don't know where you are, but I have a Trek from 1980 that I am looking to sell. It's a model 412, no rust, kept in a garage. Would need new tires and a tune up.

I'm in NJ.

see if you can find a trek 1500, I very nearly bought one instead of my current ride. I remember they cost a little over $1000 brand new, you can probably get a great deal if you can find a used one.

Craigslist maybe a better option just because its local. Find out what size frame you need in a road bike. A aluminum frame is probably the least expensive to start out with. Try to get Shimano 105 or better componets and you should be in business. Good luck.
