The First & Largest Member based Mt Biking advocacy group formed in 2006
Our Vision...
NEPMTBA/PARTS led by experienced racers, riders & certified trail builders, dedicated to designing, constructing, maintaining, including riding trails throughout the northeastern part of Pennsylvania as well as other areas for many years. "True" riders don't just ride trails in only "one" place and "someone" had to maintain the trail you "visit" to use near your area. We "lead" by example of helping others on these trails, by doing so gaining many friends and sharing stories of great places to ride and enjoying the experiences in the sport we all share.
NEPMTBA/PARTS is a founding member of the PA Mt Biking Association(PAMTBA) and assigned the entire northeastern area of Pa due to our vast database of knowledge concerning the area. NEPMTBA continues to grow at a high pace with many new members and supporters joining us each day. Our website hits are now in the 200 per day in peak times, showing Mt biking is a growing sport that needs "Trails" more than ever!
In 2009 NEPMTBA, and members: Chuck Kovach, Lee Curry, Around Town Bike Shop owners: Tom Jones, Rich Adams along with 3600 signed names of Luzerne County Residents were presented to Luzerne County Commissioners, showing the support for Moon Lake Park. All interested parties including: Moon Lake park staff, the RC Flyers, hikers, Mt bikers, fishermen, and many others helped to save Moon Lake Park and keep it open for all who use it!
NEPMTBA/PARTS participates at all of the follow trails and events: Designing, building, and maintaining, as well as hiking, and riding at these venues including, all local NEPA State & County Parks including: Lackawanna SP, Merli Sarnoski park, Prompton Dam SP, Jacobsburg SP, Salsbury, Jim Thorpe, Coburn, Potter County, Raystown, Michaux, Wissahickon, Gouldsboro/Tobyhanna SP, Tour DE Scranton, St. Patrick's Day Parade Scranton Pa, Mocanaqua Trails, Council Cup Trails, Rattling Creek, Roaring Creek, Danville Trails, Back Mt Trail, D&H/O&W trail, Luzerne Co. Rail/Trail, Lehigh Gorge Rail/Trail, Hazelton Rail/Trail, Pine Creek Gorge Rail/Trail, and many others!
NEPMTBA leads Mt bike rides every Tuesday Night at 6PM at Frances Slocum SP April through September, and every Wednesday Night at 6 PM at Moon lake Park all year round. Everyone is welcome to join us. and of course pouring rain, thunder & Lightning or heavy snow cancels rides.
