Hi everyone,
I just found this forum and figured I'd sign up. I'm also fairly new to riding. I had a generic 10 speed years ago. A few years ago I bought a mountain bike, but have never been comfortable on it. Well last weekend I bought my first road bike and love it. It's a used bike and they made sure it would be ok for me first, then fit me to the bike. It's a Trek 2000 47cm with 650 wheels. I can barely stand over the cross bar, but my feet are flat on the found when I do, so that is a good thing (and better than my mountain bike). Next purchase will be a new mountain bike. Last Monday we ordered my husband a new road bike and picked it up on Friday. He's getting used to is, as he's ridden mountain bikes for years and is much more comfortable on the mountain bike. I've found I'm much more comfortable on the road bike.
I'm in Jacksonville, NC (near Topsail Island and Emerald Isle).
