Considering stock summer type tires it handled better than the previous mountain bike I had. Next bike is gonna get a set of studded tires for the winter

Tire socks are supposed to work well.

Doubt I'd ever need them. Besides I'd rather have quicker changing of tires to chains. I've used them on tractors before granted bicycle chains be smaller but still a bitch to put on. Not to mention if you can find them they are expensive.

Ok, do they really make chains for bike tires? I spend my winters where there is no snow...never heard of this! Can you take off the front wheel and replace it with a ski? Take off the back wheel and put on a set of treads...a human powered snow mobile!

Supposedly they have made them. I have read blogs about them being made for fat tire bikes.
The ski idea has been done before and not a chance in hell I'd ever ride one lol
