Hello all, like many others I was referred by JeepForum. I've been riding since 1993 mostly in Southern Cal. I've done a few seasons of racing and a few team triathalons.

I've owned Cannodale, GT, Specialized and Felt mountain bikes and Bianchi and Specialized road bikes.

My current Mountain bikes are a 2008 Felt Q720 and an a 2000 Specialized Rockhopper Pro. I use the Felt for full time offroad and the Rockhopper for commuting and dual purpose.

I've ridden some great trails not only in Southern Cal such as the Mount Wilson Toll road, Castaic race course, Liebre Mountain and McGill on Mt Pinos, but also AZ (Black Canyon), CO (Colorado trail loop and red rocks), New Mexico (16 Mile uphill and downhill single track out of Santa Fe) and Idaho (Ridge to Rivers Trail system).

I like to go Jeepin but for me mountain biking is king! Road biking is great also but I'm to heavy (245) for a road bike and can't really have a good ride without breaking something or warping a wheel. Thats why I use my Specialized mountain bike for road riding... Take it easy everyone, I'm glad to see this forum started-thanks to the organizers.

Welcome to the forum! I agree jeeps are cool but mtb'in is far superior.

Looking forward to seeing you around.

PS - any help spreading the word would be great.

Absolutely, I'll spread the word...

On nearly every Jeep run we do I find myself thinking-wow I'd love to be riding my bike right now!

I always wanted to participate in a triathlon but I don't think I am quite up to par yet. A little more practice and I might find me one!

Note: I said team triathalon:eek:...Swimming and running are not my strong points. Obviously, I did the bike portion and pretty well I might add.:D

How well did you do? :D
Participated in the same event three years in a row. Highest placing was fourth. Considering our swimmer came out of the water D.A.L. we were pretty happy. The bike portion was a 26 mile sprint on the Pacific Coast Hwy in California. It was hard to find a good swimmer for our team. Our runner was outstanding. We never won it but at least I can say I was never passed in three races.
