The study cites the economic impact of recreational cyclists’ spending to generate $364.8 million in direct and indirect impacts to the State of Iowa. This is equivalent to $1 million per day spent for cycling.

Thanks, Rola! Interesting and informative read.

If cycling can be reduced to revenues gained, governments might start paying more than token attention to cyclists. At that point, though, politicians will feel duty-bound to increase revenue from the 'new source' as much as possible...while continuing to waste what they're already taking in...that's what politicians do, regardless of party.

Cynical? Me? Not at all :D
