Is there more to it than just that page? Because the only issues I see there seem to be related to expectations. Yes, they're heavy. But when I think of a commuter bike, racks and fenders come to mind, not light weight. If they work well, that's a moot issue.

As far as the SPD thing, I'll be the first to agree that it would be nice. Perhaps that's just not possible to incorporate into the design. Or perhaps their market research determined that their target user would not be interested in riding clipless. The only way to find out is to ask them, which I'll do.

It comes down to how well they work. If they turn out to deliver what they promise as far as visibility, I think riders will overlook the weight and platform issue.

Actually I looked at these pedals when I was working on my handlebar end lights. I'll be curious to know what you think of them.
