There's been a recent rise in the use of these guys where I come from, mostly for students at night and tourists, seems like it might be a fun way to make a few bucks and stay fit!

I see them all the time in Austin, I don't know if they are increasing.

We have two pedicab companies in Indy. One does scheduled tours and then roams downtown for rides (like the horse carriages). The other does scheduled tours but also lets you schedule a ride from here to there (and back). Different pricing models on each. Different business models on each too I believe (employees vs ind contractors). We rode in one recently - operator was a student who liked to ride and said the extra money was nice. Was enjoyable. They've been here a year or so.
