I wonder how they decided on Yellow as the color for the leader?? In my neighborhood, yellow meant chicken and that was rare good for the playground cred. Good judgment maybe, but no one wanted to be called chicken.

Maybe back before there was a TDF they, the French, had people chasing them wanting to beat them up so they mounted bicycles and would chase each other thus the "winner" was the biggest chicken. That's probably not how it happened. But stock car racing got started from moonshiners running the hills to outrun the cops carrying their load of corn juice...in fact almost all the original stock car racers were moonshine runners. So maybe the yellow jersey has some old forgotten meaning. Of course we could read this: General classification in the Tour de France - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
