What scenery . You're even following the sign's instructions and making WV shine! It's thanks to you and your stream of beautiful pics that I've moved the state up on my cycling priority list. It's not one I've previously had occasion to visit or learn much about. May take a minute, but I look forward to changing that. Thank you!

I hadn't realized WV is an open carry state, though I don't much keep up with such things anymore. Nice shot to grab from the saddle. I occasionally spot someone on the local trail network sporting a (somewhat less than) concealed pistol, but I'm terrible at shooting (with a camera, lol) on the move. I spent a few years living in AZ where such sights were pretty normal, at least for those who have an eye for such things. On the concealed carry front, suffice it to say that clothing which works as concealment for a pedestrian often doesn't for a cyclist.

That pavement looks purely sublime to ride. Thanks for sharing, and not just these latest :) . You live in a beautiful state.

I guess there is a business opportunity for an enterprising person to create reinforced jerseys that don't sag too much with a small-frame automatic in the pocket. Or maybe reinforced bibs ... keep it under the club-fit jersey.

I used to want to move to West Va ... but I heard that in the pretty areas, the locals don't like strangers much, and I am pretty strange. Instead I moved to a place where no one likes anybody .... much easier to decipher what's up.

Of course, there are no "pretty areas" ... :(

I braved a resurgence of my almost-passed pneumonia to shoot a 12-hour mountain bike race Saturday (I only lasted nine hours.) I kept thinking about I12 every time someone got air .... I took this pic just to make him jealous of the pointless but pretty bling.

Who doesn't like a gold chain ....

I love this park. Makes it easy to forget you're spang in the middle of the ever-growing Phoenix metropolitan area. For a moment at least.

It's a great park, but hemmed in on all sides. Still, there are some nice views to be enjoyed. It's been long enough. I miss this area.

The park features a cute little green permieter trail with a decent hill in the middle. For those who climb it, there's a black diamond skills course built into one side of the hill. This is its start. If not for Chip and his trailer, I'd have totally rocked it on my fat bike :D. No, really! Chip was the only thing stopping me 😅😂🤣. Fortunately there were less aggressive ways down.

There are tons of palm trees in the Phoenix area. Some of them host families of these cute if invasive parrots. I understand they began as escaped pets, but they have flourished since.
