i have set of shimano 6700 with standard crank(53/39) and 11-25 casettes on my bike. So far, i have no problem riding it.
Until last week, i ride a big hilly climbing. I feel lot harder than my friends bike with compact crank.
So i am planning to change my casettes from 11-25 to 11-28.
Before i get the new cassette, i would like to know did any one try standard crank with 11-28 teeth?? will this work??
because i have only see people set up with compact crank with 28 teeth cog.
let see if any one can help answer my question

I just changed from a 11-28 to a 11-23 with a double ( 53/39 ). Big jumps in gearing at the top of the cassette with the 11-28.

It will work just fine.
