I would so love to see this happen but in reality I would have to agree with most of the comets made on it already. The only possibility is that Richmound and the fine state of Virginia grasp the at economic opportunity....This part of the state is military/gov't. and tourist driven.

Man, it's been a LONG time coming but it's less than 24 days away now! There's been tons of good stuff happening on Richmond in preparation for this huge event.

Here's just another example of of the positive impact for the cycling community.

    I'm soooooo. Stocked for this!!!!

I'm very jealous! I hope it doesn't take another 30 years to come back.

Considering how much prime pro tickets cost now and food and drink is included it's not that bad.

It's not cheap but try going to an nfl game or similar with food and drink included and prime seats. It would be a lot more. Now if I were going I'd probably find some place to watch for free :)

    Teaser Pic

Here's a shot of Libby Hill cobblestones during the Collegiate Championships last year.

In between heats you were able to challenge yourself and ride up it...wife and i did....it's even harder than it looks.

For those of you going I got this email from Specialized today. Apparently they will be giving away some cool swag each day including a new Venge.
This is copied from the email:

For the first time since 1986, the UCI Road World Championships are being held on American soil. And to celebrate the world’s fastest riders, we’re giving away some of our fastest products. Every day, from September 14th to the 27th, you’ll have the chance to win our fastest aero equipment. Enter online or visit our booth at the race in Richmond to sign up for your chance to win.

I just sat through the last race at RIR in Kurt Bush's pits and watched all that free! Now that's what I'm taking about :)

That is awesome. Hope you enjoy and get to catch a bunch of the races. Saw the Hincapie bus. I'm down at his place in SC right now. Got dusted up a mountain yesterday by one of his riders who I guess didn't make it to Richmond.
