I was just wondering if anyone knows if having riser bars as opposed to straight bars will make you go any slower?
I have straight bars but I may get risers - any suggestions for some decent middle of the range bars?
Riser bars are much better than flat bars on mtn bikes due to their adjustability. To change the position of a flat bar you have to replace the stem. I really can't think of any real advantages of running a flat bar.
Speed has very little to do with what type of bar you use. I like Easton bars, but there are tons of good riser bars out there. Just remember to make sure that your bar matches your stem (25.4 or 31.8mm).
What kind of bar you looking for? I have some for sale that i will give you a good deal on. There are multiple companies that make nice riser bars. If you are gonna go carbon, which i really suggest, go with Easton.
