I wear New Balance shoes because my feet are wide (2W). I can't seem to find road shoes that fit and are reasonably priced. Has anyone found a pair for less than $100?

Check out the Shimano line. I have wide feet and they fit pretty decent most of the time. Stay away from Sidi, they are extremely narrow.

You want general running shoes or shoes specific to road biking?

I'd also recommend Shimano. I think they even have some wide foot specific ones.

I've got a pair of Shimano RO60 spd-sl shoes that have lasted for around 20,000 miles and are still in pretty good condition.

Sidi Megas are wider. I wear a New Balance 2E and the Megas are fine.

I also use the SIDI Genius in the Mega sizing and highly recommend them! I never liked the way the Simanos looked (clumpy) and gotta go Italian with and Italian bike... right?
