I was wondering what the major differences between Rock Shox suspension and Manitou forks are? I know that the major differences between the Rock Shox forks are their weight differences and adjustment capabilities. Which company do you think make better forks?

Personally I am a fan of Rock Shox as my old bike had them and I took them through hell and back. They didnt falter one bit.
I would go with the Rock Shox as well. Just always been a loyal brand for me.
You will have better luck with RS. Since they got bought out by SRAM they have come a long way, and their customer service is great (brake mount on my Lyrics got striped while at sea otter this last year and SRAM replaced the whole lowers as well as the compression unit). If you are buying a lower grade beginner fork it doesnt matter as much, because they won't be good from either company, but overall rockshox makes a better product.

I have owned Rock Shox, Manitou, and Fox on 8 or 9 different bikes and Fox (i know it was not one of your choices) is my favorite. The travel seems to be far mor linear than Rock in particular. Also, in order to fully utilize all of the travel the fork or shock has, you are instructed by Fox to have it bottom out on what you would consider your most agressive manuver (I bottom out about once in 10 or so rides). The other manufacturers do not suggest setting their products this way so in essence a 4in travel fork becomes a 3.5 etc. Fox´s suggestion to set them this way to me means they are pretty confident in their workmanship.

x2 on fox if you can afford it, really great products
If you are looking for higher end forks, save your money and buy a FOX. Really in another class when it comes to forks. If you must decide between RS and Manitou now though i would definetely go with RS especially now that they are owned by SRAM. There products and customer service has improved greatly. Good luck
