Gonna be in Seattle this week and don't trust the google fu :) Looking for a good, make that the best brew pub in SeaTac :D I see Hopvine looks pretty good.

Gonna hit all the tradition stuff while we are there but any locals have any off the beaten path suggestions?

Bummed as neither the Mariners or Seahawks will be home while they are there.

Time will be a premium as we will be there for a wedding so trying to male every minute count!

I would suggest wearing a flannel shirt while listening to Nirvana after watching re-runs of Grey's Anatomy; I hear this will help you "blend in."
Got that covered :)!

Here ya go dude. Here are a few reputable ones.

http://www.macandjacks.com/index.php

A local restauranthttp://www.theram.com/ that brews its own.

BTW. Bring your fleece. Temps won't get above 75 w/o humidity that's if the sun ever decides to pop out from behind the marine air.

If you make it down to Tacoma the Harmon Brewery is the place to go.

Enjoy your stay.
Muchas Gracias!

We are actually staying somewhere in Tacoma. Rented a cabin on a lake. I have no idea what the name of the lake is, I'll have to ask the wife.

I was looking at the weather and I'm looking forward to it!!!

Harmon Brewery is saved in the phone already, THANX! The Taproom sounds interesting

De nada.

The M's might not be in town but their AAA affliate the Tacoma Rainiers are. They play at the newly refurbished Cheney Stadium. They start a week long homestand tonight. I'm not sure where in the rotation he is right now, but you should be able to catch U of Va star and M's #1 draft pick from last season, Danny Hultzen pitch.

Catching a AAA game is actually more fun for me than the MLB games. For 1 I have money left over from buying tix to spend on food:eek:
Another reason is those guys still play hard. Makes for a more enjoyable game IMHO:cool:

Anyway, have a good time Rola, raise a good one for me and show us the suds!

Made it to the Ram last night. Not bad microbrew and a decent dinner. In search of a good bike shop to add a jersey today amongst other things. Awesome view from the cottage we are staying in. I could learn to live here for sure!

I can say that after this quick trip 2 things stick out in my mind. 1. I DID NOT miss the heat and humidity in Va. although it did feel odd to wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt in August in the evenings. Nice 50ish degree temps, loved it!
2. I have a new appreciation for the word hill. I would loved to have had the chance to ride out there and in particular to Paradise out at Mt. Rainier. I think it was only 18 miles from the park entrance and for me I think it would have been a challenge.

The Sea/Tac area in general did not seem to be real road bike friendly IMHO. I can only imagine what the MTB would be like out there though.

Did you find the elusive jersey?

Grow a beard?

Oh wait, that's Portland.
I did find the joisy :)

I bought the one from the brew that I liked. The Irony was I REALLY liked another one...but being a ( in an odd way) purist wanted the one from the brew I had
I REALLY wanted this one:
Pike’s Tandem Double Ale bike jersey
but ended up with:

Been a while since I've been to the park, but if I recall correctly, a ride up to Paradise would be anything but Paradise :) Them's some serious hill out there.

The road cycling is pretty good up here, just takes time to find the right routes. Of course the MTB is great up here. In fact here is a MTB event for the diehards.

I'm sure it is actually, just a very quick trip that was mostly touristy (is that really a word ?)and never made out exploring the area really.
