OK, so I want a pr of shoes suited to platforms, not 100 dang dollars, with a flat lugged bottom, SIZE 10 not 6 or 13 & not crazy nonsense color or pattern. Last time I looked you could get a bunch of different platform/freeride types of shoes that were bike specific as far as support and cleatable if desired with a flatish lugged bottom that's be wearable off the bike and crap resistant from riding offroad and in the 30-40 dollar range. Apparently that was long ago and there aren't many choices any more without spending at least 80 bucks and not buying someone elses preowned ones. Been lookin all day online at every type imaginable. What have I missed? Start throwin out the ideas because 20.00 hiking shoes from Academy are starting to look better and better. I do not want any super lugged curved arch things. This type of thing is what I'm starting to consider...........

If I deciphered your cryptic message correctly, you want MTB shoes and don't want to pay a lot of money. There are tons of them available, although most are sized in European sizes, so don't look for size 10...find a conversion chart for the shoe brand.
Not sure if you'll find any under $50 though, unless you find some closeouts. Check Amazon.com, Nashbar.com, Performancebikes.com ... they all may have what you're seeking.

Bought these Forte Traverse shoes to replace some street shoe looking Forte shoes that I was using for platforms that had finally wore out. The Traverses suck horribly for use on platforms......

So I was searching around everywhere yesterday trying to find some bike shoes that had flat lugged soles like the m034s above. Everything of every brand that had that type sole was $100 or was some crazy a$$ colors or places only had a size 6 or 13 and nothing in between. I looked at BMX shoes, freeride shoes, dirt jumping shoes, mtb shoes, multi-purpose shoes. Yes, I was also looking at 9.7, 10.5, 43, 45 - basically anything that equates to 10-10.5 for sizes, not just US 10.

So all this for nothing because I solved the problem for free by just switching the cleats to the Forte Traverse shoes after finally locating the cleat patches to put back on the M034s that I will use for platforms. I didn't think I had them hence the search for new shoes. End cryptic confusitory shoe rant. Resume normal life functions.

I am glad to see you achieved victory over footwear .... I have been looking for shoes and have the same issues ..... mostly freaking Price!!11!! These are just shoes, folks ....

I don't care about the crazy colors, though .... I had some patent-leather-looking super-shiny Giro shoes, but spray paint sticks to almost everything .....
