chibibike, would it have been better if you had gone with a shorter bar and kept the longer one as a spare? Part of the length or width of a handlebar is so your arms are not so close together as to cut off and/or affect your breathing, especially when hammering up a hill when you breath heavier and your heart rate really increases. When breathing harder you want your chest area open and your arms wider apart so you can breath easier and more evenly.
