I wanted to to shorten my flatbar a couple inches so my hands arn't to wide apart. I got this tube cutter at lowes for 8 dollars.

Good job! Clean up the sharp edges when you're done.

what do you mean? Just click the post reply button and type in whatever you want. If you want to put a picture up I use imageshack.com to upload it and then copy the fourm code and paste it in here.

chibibike, would it have been better if you had gone with a shorter bar and kept the longer one as a spare? Part of the length or width of a handlebar is so your arms are not so close together as to cut off and/or affect your breathing, especially when hammering up a hill when you breath heavier and your heart rate really increases. When breathing harder you want your chest area open and your arms wider apart so you can breath easier and more evenly.

well they arn't that close together. I just took off an inch from each end. It's at 22 inches still. I thought it was just a bit much before since I put drops on it.
