it's been 20 years since I did fully loaded touring ... but that tour started from Orlando to Daytona and up the coast on Highway 1 and A1A .... pretty good most fo the way---then heading westish somewhere in the Carolinas .... should be really nice weather as the trip progresses.

Mileage depends on you and the road, the weather, and the sights along the way. We usually did five-six hours twice a day, 100-mile days without having to push hard (except on the hills.) But ... we weren't sight-seeing or taking side trips, just making mileage.

Nowadays, fully loaded, if I started training seriously right now ... pretty sure I could do 50 comfortable even fully loaded .... except on hills. Only you know how you feel.

As far as I know, the West-East route is mostly flat---no mountain ranges through probably some fair hills. Probably some very pleasant riding.
I am a litle jealous .... not in the cards for this year or possibly the next, but maybe someday ....

Enjoy the ride, if you would like to.

I have no idea right now .... I don't recall any planned stops at either of those towns. We picked up A1A in Palm Coast and then headed west into Jacksonville and then I think took 1 (I think) into the Carolinas .... we headed west to go to Raleigh NC, .... I am not in touch with the other three riders at all---two of them I met on the ride---otherwise I'd ask.

Looking at a map i can assure you we did Not do Fernandina .... We didn't do any bridges or ferries until we got right up to Jax .... when I got lost and separated on the way (There are about 600 long and boring stories about what went wrong on this trip----) and I didn't see the rest of the group until the next morning. I crossed in Jax on a hideously dangerous metal grating bridge ... which I crossed about three time, getting lost on various turn-offs or squeezed out by traffic after missing a turn.

We were doing the ride to promote awareness of the persecution of Falun Dafa qigong in communist China, so our route was determined by a schedule of press events, which is why we headed for downtown Jax (Fernandina Beach looks like a giant nature preserves .... much better riding, I can guess) but we had an agenda ..... most literally .... and sightseeing was only part of it.

The ride up the coast from Palm Harbor to whichever side road (I think maybe 10-Alt 90-Atlantic Boulevard) was really nice, often is site of the ocean, and Georgia and the Carolinas (except the cities) were awesome but the hills were eye-opening. I was in good shape and didn't have much trouble but .... we had one pic (not sure where it is now) where the road just rises up hill after hill after hill to the horizon, each on taller than the previous ..... Mostly forest, tiny little towns (three churches, a feed store, a general store about the size of a two-car garage,) but the need to do media events at major cities took us through a lot of terrain I would have avoided. Still, I was on my bike all day so i was fine.
