I'm sure plenty of people are using Strava here but how many of the available extensions does every use? I've used the Stravistix for quite a while. I just added Sauce today even though it's been around for several years I decided to add the extension today. Kinda wish I would have done it some time ago. I've had Veleoviewer for a while as well. Kinda disappointed in the fact that in order to take advantage if them I must flip over and use Chrome to view them. Not a huge deal but I'd prefer to stay in Safari
Oh, you have got to try Strava Enhancement Suite - lots of additions but also you can hide or change some things too that you can't elsewhere. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/strava-enhancement-suite/egelalffpmicecakegglddmhlbdiemlg (Note - this is for Chrome). I love, love, love Sauce.
This isn't an extension but a standalone program - but it is pretty awesome. http://www.goldencheetah.org/ You have to upload your activities manually to it but it gives you a ton of stats and analyses and is greatly customizable. Frigging awesome program. For Windows and it can also be download on Max and Linux flavors.
This one isn't an extension that you install in your browser as a helper, but it is an interesting 'helper' to Strava feeds - it automatically adds that ride's (or anything else logged outdoors) weather to the description for the ride. Free, but for $5 a year you get some extra options. Real easy to use - just connect to Strava; https://klimat.app/ Here's an example from my own feed - not a ride unfortunately; https://www.strava.com/activities/2107392993
This isn't exactly an extension but another Strava-connected service. https://wandrer.earth Just ran across this last night - unfortunately everyone else did too I guess and it started to stress their bandwidth with Strava. Intermittently down last night but up today with a warning message, and slow on processing rides; understandably. It shows you where you have ridden and places you haven't ridden, percentage of the Earth you have ridden, etc. Not sure if I explained that properly... Leaderboards, points, etc. On a side note...It's interesting because a casual goal I have had for a few years is to ride every (public, paved) road in my county just for fun. I don't make too much progress with it but I try. I know others sometimes do something similar, especially for cities. So one day while my wife and I were driving somewhere I outlined a plan and the process in detail of how I would set up a service that would allow a person to set a parameter or area that they wanted to ride and then connect the service to Strava to show how much of it they have covered, how much they need to and map out the areas they are missing. Big complicated project, too huge for me and likely too technically advanced, some money involved, dedicated server in case of traffic increase, etc etc etc. This isn't exactly what I envisioned but it's leaning in that direction, which I thought was interesting. For now I use Strava Summit Heat Maps and Jonathan OKeefe's Strava Heat Mapper - https://www.jonathanokeeffe.com/strava/map.php
First thing I've run into that was blocked on my work laptop, says it's a game Guess I'll look later at home.
I've been joined up for a few days and it has finally processed the first 25 rides from Strava. Who-hoo - only seven+ more years of rides to get through
All of my rides finally synced after maybe five days. I really like this concept. There is an option on the Big Map page to highlight roads you have never ridden, should be good for my quest to ride every road in my county. Oops, and now the site is down!
So, what do you think? The only complaint I have is that you have to zoom in quite a way to highlight roads you haven't ridden, and the base map he is using is showing old roads for my area that haven't been roads in decades. Like this one - I don't know when there was a road there last but I ride but here all of the time and I know that there was once a road there but there's a house, yard, and tall woods where it shows the road on the south-east end and a line of trees and grown up field on the other end. I wish I could more easily dump or see an overall map of my area - has to stitch together pieces in Photoshop the few times I wanted a larger over-view to keep. Oh, how did I miss it? There is a paid feature for downloading.
