Yep, not the 2 nor the Neo but watched DC’s revised review and it was good enough to warrant a go. I was looking to the Saris H3 due to lifetime warranty but when you read the actual warranty, that’s only to the frame and not the internals. I was hoping it was because that would be a no-brainer.

I will not be able to give her a go until late next week but look forward to trying the new smart trainer out. Already spun the flywheel to make sure there is not the catch some folks have had issues with from the get go. Hopefully this one passed QC better than most.

Hope you like it as much as I like mine. Makes trainer rides a little more tolerable.

I will certainly let you know. I know trainer riding in the past is so monotonous and quite frankly, I rather smash my head in a door jam then do them.

"A little tolerable ... " apt description of trainer rides.

Spin class, when I needed to get some basic fitness in a big hurry for a tour, were okay. I could work my butt off and if I bonked or whatever .... i was at the gym, not 20 miles from home. Blasting music, a dark, black-lit room with colorful fluorescent murals, and a defined 55-mim,ute program made the rides "a little tolerable."

I have tried the same thing at home, and without the energy of a whole room full of fellow strugglers .... it gets old pretty fast.

I'd kike to try the John_V method of watching TV, but my wife is not about to let me take over the TV room, nor would pools of sweat have a salubrious effect on the wood floor.

Well, I use to do the trainers with nothing but a fan to feel like going down the road......any interactive to simulate riding on the road has to be a positive gain for sure...LOL

I am going to try several of the free well known programs like Zwift, Sufferfest, Kino and others to see how they add up then look to one for off-season and crappy weather riding.

I use two. I’m grandfathered in to TrainerRoad at $99 annually and just paid for a year of Fulgaz at $109 after a free trial. I used to spend more than that at Starbucks.

Got the system up and running......was a bear trying to get the RD aligned for some reason from bike to trainer where I took off the cassette from my rear wheel to put on the trainer. Have another cassette coming I will put back on my wheel for road riding.

So fast forward. Performed the 45 min. FTP! Kicked my arse being static with no fan. Not to mention I decided to do in workout shorts rather than a bib set.

First impression.......very much like the trainer. Now to do some free recorded live rides on the complimentary 30 day TACX site.

Yippers.....going to Lowes soon to get a tilting 20” floor fan....LOL

I sweated so much in the 45 mins. I burned off about 3 lbs. when I weighed in afterwards out of curiosity.

I needed 2 fans in the dead of summer, a propeller at lower right front and a centrifugal at mid height rear left. Makes a big difference.
