Averages 33.8 mph..IN A SINGLE GEAR!!
Is this possible?
How is this possible? Draft? All descent? Tricked out, nuclear powered e-bike?
I wondered if it was legit too. There are several other articles on it but I can't find anything in the Guinness World Records at least yet. May take dome time.
Maybe i'm not asking it the right question - https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/
This joker averaged 42.6 mph in a vehicle draft
https://usacycling.org/article/fast... current record for Fastest,11 (31.4 mph avg).
I would say it’s possible if everything was planned out and all conditions were perfect. It would be nice to know more about the full story.
I remember all the doubt and negativity Amanda got when she broke every distance cycling record in the books; especially the “there’s no way a girl can do that.”
Hats off to the man!
I assume this was on a track because I cannot imagine 100 miles of perfectly flat road, and totally windless, which would seem pretty necessary to ride 33.4 mph for three hours--in the same gear. Even with a couple gears .... hard to imagine. I will wait for confirmation.
Meanwhile, I dream of getting my average back to 15.
Done drafting his father's mini-van, at MIS which I think is a NASCAR track. I tend to not pay much attention to 'drafting' records. After all, there are some ridiculous records possible if the draft is good enough.
The one I posted above was done in England with no draft.
