I am sure there are some tips out there that you would share .

I mark the tire and tube when new on one side, so when I have a flat it makes it easyer to find where th punture was and dig out the culpret.

Don't eat yellow snow.

The more patches and spare tubes you carry, the lower your chances of flatting.
+1.

I carry a spare tube, 2 different kinds of patches, a CO2 inflator and a spare CO2 cylinder. I rarely flat out.

When riding, expect everyone around you to do the most rude, stupid, thoughtless thing they can...you will only ever be pleasantly surprised.

Always make eye contact with drivers who look like they might pull out into you. That's about half of them. You can actually see them register that you exist - uncanny!

They say if you need help to look some one in the eye and say you help me. It makes them feel personnely responsible instead of differing it to the group.
