    Very nice road bike, Schwinn Sprint, ready for the road. Brand new tires 27 x 1 1/4 inch, new tubes. Brand new bar wrap on drop handle bars. Shifts and rides smooth, newly tuned. Great chrome, great paint, good shine. Aluminum Stem and crank arms, Suntour Allegor shifters. 34 1/2 stand over height, frame is 63cm. Asking $160.......get me at [email protected]

    Bike was born on July, 1968 according to the serial number on the bottom bracket. Serial number starts with GD.

    Incorrect. That is a mid 1980s bike. I had one that was built in 1987. GD = Giant build I believe. It had Suntour AR derailleurs I bet, which were not used by Schwinn in the 1960s because, well, they didn't exist.

    Here's a link to the Schwinn Catalog pages for the 1986 Sprint. It says it comes in Blue Metallic which is the color of yours.

    I'm no expert but going by the chart put out by Schwinn...first letter the month...G stands for July....second letter the year....A-1965, B-1966,C-1967, D-1965
    Unless this chart is wrong.
    But I'll defer to the experts.

    The chart is correct, but only for Chicago-built bikes. That bike was made in Taiwan. An honest mistake.
