From Topeka here. Just got a cheepo mtn bike. Been riding around Shunga Trail in Topeka. I've got a friend that rides the SMP in JoCo. Rides a white and red TREK. I think he's at basic currently though.

You rode any of the trails over by Lawrence yet? They look pretty fun! Its right off 10 hwy south of the Mall Buildings and stuff butts up next to a creek \ river.

My daughter is still in Topeka - we visited this summer & took our bikes. The shunga is the best paved trail I have ever ridden on and they are going to continue to lengthen it. If you run into a young very pretty girl named Danielle with dark hair at a coffee shop in Topeka tell her - dad misses her & loves her!

Wow. What a small world (in a good way!).
I came to love cycling in Manhattan with the river trails. Fast and smooth single-track. So much fun.

I really liked the prairie trails in Manhattan (Marlatt Park) until I tried a bad line on one of the intimidating descents... I bit it hard. My chin is scarred as well as my bottom lip - my top teeth went through my bottom lip.

I tried SMP, but the rock sections still freak me out a bit. I'd be down to ride them again if anyone wants to 'coach' me on riding through the rocks! :D
