New rear shock for the Giant NRS..............came with seal kit & pump. Also got the RS bushing tool and black mounting hardware. Should be nice step up from the RS Bar & better matched to the Reba Team fork.

Didn't buy anything but made me a crud guard half fender thing out of a piece of ABS a buddy gave me. Wanted something to keep all the gak off all the frame pivots and front derailleur on the AnthemX. Fits in the rear triangle kinda subtle like. Won't keep it completely crap free but should offer good amount of protection................

OK, facepalm moment......Test fitting the Monarch RL on the NRS Saturday. There are 2 positions for the upper shock mount. I have it in the long travel (rear) position closest to seat post. So I put the Monarch in same position. I notice that the air valve sleeve off the top of air can is close to pivot bracket so I want to test travel to make sure it doesn't hit it but when I leaned on the bike a little it moved more than I expected and long story short, It messed up the sleeve. So now I have rendered a brand new $200 shock useless for the moment. I found a swivel mount air valve sleeve where you could point it where it needed to be but those are discontinued so SOL on that. But I found a rebuild kit for a Pearl rr shock that came with the same air valve sleeve as part of the kit. So I have removed the stub from the Monarch and ordered the Pearl rebuild kit to fix the Monarch with. I will be using the shorter travel mounting position for the top when parts come in. Here is the kit..............luckily only a $20 fix.

My new cleats. High float models.
They float. I can feel the shoes moving around in the pedals, at least the left foot, the right foot I do not feel the movement, btw...the right knee was the issue knee that prompted me to seek a solution.

I took a couple pics of the shoes floating in the pedals.
There is a couple inches of movement.

(sorry about the dirty bike, it DOES get used)

This is the heel pushed in.

The heel out.
Ziptie cool. Sticker on frame....not so much :D

Just picked this up today, a 12-25 cassette to inner mix with my pre-existing 11-28 cassette. Was looking for a 15 tooth and a 17 tooth cog so I found the 12-25 set has both and it's the same brand I'm running now, so I can flip flop and in Ed change the cogs where I need them.

Running same cassette on my touring bike with 46/36/24 up front....
The hardest part to me is all the spoke length calculation to get right ones for the lacing pattern, hub & rim. Putting it together is enjoyable. Have built a dozen or so. Even built a couple of sets with experimental patterns. There is a 36 spoke pattern where you end up with 3 groups of 6 spokes on each side that are basically woven together that turned out really cool I did on my wife's cruiser. Forgot what it was called. Did a 32 spoke version of it with 4 groups of 4 spokes on each side on one of my bikes but didn't dig it so that one got redone. Very rewarding to get familiar with building and maintaining your wheelsets.
Only thing about racks like this nowadays is...........most hatches have a spoiler and the straps have to go over that to get to the top edge where they cling. Depending on the setup, and how many or what kind of bikes you are hauling, could cause issue pulling on the spoiler. I rarely use my saris bones rack anymore because of the spoiler on the back of the RAV4 & the one on my Protege5. Truck is easier anyway but would use the trays attached to the factory roof racks on the other 2. Of course, that wouldn't be issue for a buick century tho.........
I had to break down and buy something non-bike related........

It'll look something like this once installed................

Thought I would post a pic of the finished product on my car's sat nav install.
Was a bit disappointed it doesn't color match perfectly. It was sort of supposed too. It came from a junk yard, out of a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE. I have an S model, that has, I guess, A slightly different color on the dash trim. They were suppose to match.
Buying from a junk yard...you get what you get.
The radio cost new in 2010, $2100. I said no then and regretted that, not the $2100, but the cheap radio in the dash. This cost $332 plus another $20 for the sat nav antenna(I could not figure out the "sharkfin" hookup.) It is a stock from Toyota, radio.

I am pleased. It works well, and is nice sounding and looking.

I spy the Rostra bluetooth phone connection button that the phone or apps use to come over the car speakers. I has the same setup that runs off my factory head unit in my Tacoma. I added it, mine didn't have that or the usb or aux connections. Does now tho, that stuff plus oem cruise control and adjustable intermittent wiper delay stalk. I don't just build and/or mod my bikes, I do the cars, truck, house, computers.....and anything else that cries out for it.
Here, I'll throw this in just to sprinkle in a non-biking purchase.......recent new air intake purchase for the car and it required some custom piping to get from filter box to throttle body. Fortunately I have a big box of intake parts from the truck and car so I just fabbed up what I needed from parts on hand. Only having to buy a couple of black couplers for the MAF. Here is test fit pic from last nite after trimming the last piece of pipe to get ready to dial it in and install permanently...............

Anyone have this issue with their iPhone belt clips. I've broken two so far.

Not with an iphone but yes, have broken several of my casio commando canvas belt clips due to the weak a$$ plastic pivots. Made the switch to a Turtleback canvas one with a metal clip and mounting point and it's made in AMERICA..............

Also, considering these for the road bike. The carbon fiber with red/white accents would look great. However, I think the better choice would be the carbon Ultegras...............
