You can learn a lot about someone by what they purchase.

My quest for the perfect saddle continue with the Fizik Aliante. I've heard a lot of good things about it and Amazon had 1 left in white. I wanted a black saddle but for 50% off, I'll take white :).

I am definitely a fan of Fi'zi:k saddles; now having two, the Ardea on Il TToro~Blu and an Arione for the Langster. Interested in how you like the Aliante.

Too bad you don't live here in Tampa. I would let you borrow my spare ISM Prologue to see if you like it. If you haven't tried one, you may want to put it on your list of saddles to evaluate.
He is officially hooked!

Over the last few Sundays, after my rides with John, I have been taking my Dad out on short rides of 5-7 miles. He rides my Townie and I ride my road bike! He's 58 yrs old and even though he's in fairly good shape, he's never been one to exercise. His exercise usually consists of yard work for hours on end. Which I could never keep up with him on. I swear he's half Ox. Anyway he needs to be doing more so I brought him my bike one day. Well yesterday we went to Dick's Sporting Goods and he made his first cycling purchase, a helmet. Because I told him I wouldn't let him ride anymore until he bought one. It's a cheap $25 one but that's not what matters. While there however we looked at bikes and now he's thinking of buying one. So he has officially drank the cycling Kool-Aid! View attachment 17107

^Set the hook and pull him in :) 58, he's just a young man!
I can remember being 58.
I'd say I want one body for each lens, but I probably have a dozen lenses. Bought this with another body, flash, and a few accessories. When I sell the other stuff, I expect to be out of pocket about $200 for this.
I remember 1958  I even remember a little from 1948 :D
Don't have any pics, but just bought some replacement spokes with 16mm nipples to rebuild my mavic open pro rear rim. Keep breaking spokes so rebuilding with DT Alpine lll triple butted. 2.3/1.8/2.0 so if all goes right, I'll quit breaking spokes. I was told this is what is used for us Clydesdales and tandem wheels.

What did that run you? I may be down the same path myself. I was popping nipples, but after I changed them all to brass now a spoke snapped. LBS is working on it today. But I may have to upgrade to heaver spokes.

My new cleats. High float models.
They float. I can feel the shoes moving around in the pedals, at least the left foot, the right foot I do not feel the movement, btw...the right knee was the issue knee that prompted me to seek a solution.

I took a couple pics of the shoes floating in the pedals.
There is a couple inches of movement.

(sorry about the dirty bike, it DOES get used)

This is the heel pushed in.

The heel out.

Hey Lou,
Through talking to several LBS's, this is what was suggested so for a 36 spoke wheel, it cost me $1.99 per spoke and $0.25 per 16mm nipple. But I rebuilt the wheel myself since I have my own equipment. I went with a longer nipple so I could add 4mm more thread to have a better hold. My wheels are Mavic Open Pro with Shimano 105 hubs. My issue was my spokes are breaking at the bend due to a 2.0 spoke in a 2.5 hole. So with the tripe butted, it's now a 2.3 spoke in a 2.5 hole, and a 1.8 shaft to allow it to flex instead of slamming inside the hole.

Going to pick up my bike today so I'll talk to my mechanic and see what he says.

Good Luck and I'll let you know how mine works out after I get tires and all switched over to try the new rebuild.

During all our running around, yesterday, we stopped at one of the Verizon Wireless stores to activate international calling for our trip. While there, I got this hair up my a$$ and upgraded to an iPhone 5c. Now I can use cycling hardware on my phone (at least until iPhone 6 is released).

Looks like you're in business now John. Hope you get some good battery life on the newer iPhone version than I get on my iPhone 5.
