You just had to bring that up and I had to get a basic check and it appears to be spot on :)

Well.... how about that, I'm actually good for something after all! Troublecauser extraordinaire. And they said I'd never amount to anything. :D

Just a note about the tires. I left them basking in the sun on the driveway while I went on a 26 mile ride. I came home and they went right on the rims with very little effort. :)

Before you start working on your wheels, take a trip to the dump and see if anyone has thrown away any bikes. If so, see if they'll let you have the bike or at least the wheels. Take the wheels apart and practice rebuilding them. Better to learn and make mistakes on junk wheels than on yours.

Very good suggestion, that's what I did, and then I learned how to balance the tension of the spokes. Made a big difference. You'll feel good when you bud your own wheels.

The hardest part to me is all the spoke length calculation to get right ones for the lacing pattern, hub & rim. Putting it together is enjoyable. Have built a dozen or so. Even built a couple of sets with experimental patterns. There is a 36 spoke pattern where you end up with 3 groups of 6 spokes on each side that are basically woven together that turned out really cool I did on my wife's cruiser. Forgot what it was called. Did a 32 spoke version of it with 4 groups of 4 spokes on each side on one of my bikes but didn't dig it so that one got redone. Very rewarding to get familiar with building and maintaining your wheelsets.

Breakfast Purchase

Just shy of 14 lbs. of oatmeal. And a shipment of my favorite morning brew. Roasted and delivered to my door in 2 days. Some of the coffee will be given to some of my customers. Instead of lame advertising crap like calendars or refrigerator magnets I like to give coffee or in winter hot chocolate assortment boxes.

I tried them a time or two and really liked them but it got a little expensive. Went back to using my 1/2" and 1" synthetic hair paint brush. Not as easy as the gear floss but works quite well.

Old shoe laces work well for flossing. I use 3/32 braided cord to floss. 1/8 braided cord is a little to wide. I know because I make miles of the crap.
