You can learn a lot about someone by what they purchase.

Thought I would post a pic of the finished product on my car's sat nav install.
Was a bit disappointed it doesn't color match perfectly. It was sort of supposed too. It came from a junk yard, out of a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE. I have an S model, that has, I guess, A slightly different color on the dash trim. They were suppose to match.
Buying from a junk yard...you get what you get.
The radio cost new in 2010, $2100. I said no then and regretted that, not the $2100, but the cheap radio in the dash. This cost $332 plus another $20 for the sat nav antenna(I could not figure out the "sharkfin" hookup.) It is a stock from Toyota, radio.

I am pleased. It works well, and is nice sounding and looking.

I spy the Rostra bluetooth phone connection button that the phone or apps use to come over the car speakers. I has the same setup that runs off my factory head unit in my Tacoma. I added it, mine didn't have that or the usb or aux connections. Does now tho, that stuff plus oem cruise control and adjustable intermittent wiper delay stalk. I don't just build and/or mod my bikes, I do the cars, truck, house, computers.....and anything else that cries out for it.
Looks like they have an aluminum brake surface, yes?
Yes. Actually an aluminum rim, backed by carbon.
Picked me up a set of Assos Winter Socks in grey off of Chainlove.com for $20.00. Supposed to be good from 45* to 23*.

I just got back from Outdoor Retailer. We bought a few things (well, got extra swag for charitable contributions), and got big bags of swag. And our favorite sock company reminded us just how much they would like to give Twospoke members some more free cycling socks.

So there, it wasn't all about us. :)
Are you talking about Darn Tough Vermont Hack? I love their socks. Their name say it all and it's made in the USA to boot.
You get any extra swag for the mods :D ?
Those Darn Tough Vermont Socks are made for those chilly days in New England. :)
Rescued a Trek 220 from a shed. All it needs is two tires and brake cables. Piece of cake. My grandson will be tickled pink when he comes over next week. View attachment 17374 View attachment 17375
Bought we cables, v-brake noodles, headset spacers off ebay.

New fork should be getting here soon, will mount that up on my hybrid and add the new spacers etc.

Hopefully lighten my hybrid up by 4+ lbs and make it a little more responsive and less energy robbing.

Going from a cheap sr nxt suspension fork to a Taiwanese generic carbon fiber fork.

Yes. I actually skipped just about all the other sock brands this show. I'm about to throw the towel in and admit that although I haven't tried every brand out there (but I have tried a lot of socks), they are the best all-around sock you can buy.

There, I said it.

Nope. Just a bunch of contacts so my contributors can get their hands on the latest and coolest gear. But if you want a beer cozy, that's cool. ;)

And hot Utah summers. Merino helps regulate temperature, and is naturally anti-microbial.

Pay cash. Always. I may have mentioned elsewhere a couple of recent purchases. My wife didn't get upset, because I paid cash.
Sweet looking forward to what us contributors get our hands on to review.

Stupid question... Do you just wear these socks like normal socks? I've never had socks like this before.
I haven't worn Assos, I can't even afford to look at Assos but their reputation is unmatched.

These are designed to be worn against the skin but you don't have to do that. I assume they provide good insulation to thickness ratio. That's key. I don't think there's a single product that will keep your feet warm. Layering is important but too many layers inside your shoes will make the shoes too tight and that will restrict blood flow resulting in frozen toes. Even socks too tight can do that. So if you can put a thin liner sock under these without making the socks too tight, that could help feet stay warm. If not, a wool sock over these if that doesn't make your shoes too tight. Chemical toe warmers and shoe covers are very good weapons in the fight against cold feet. I'd love to have winter bike shoes but haven't found a pair at a price I can afford. When I do find them, I'll buy a half size bigger than I wear in nice weather to allow room for extra socks. If it's going to be around freezing and wet or below 0ºF, I'll wear waterproof insulated winter boots and ride the bike that has flat platform pedals.

You need to try different things and find what works for you. These socks look like they can play a valuable part in your battle against the cold. Feet are the hardest part to keep warm.

Picked up a full box of GU Chomps and Gels along with some NUNN electrolytes yesterday. They didn't have my favorite Green Tea flavor so I had to settle for Fruit Punch. The Chomps are Watermelon and the Gels are Strawberry-Banana flavored. We're all set for another month.
