The Jolly Brown Santa (UPS) and the ever helpful band of Blue Shirted Elves (USPS) dropped off a good project for the weekend!

New Handlebars and Bottom Bracket for Il Toro~Blu. The bars; PZ Racing - CR 6.3 400mm (31.8) white alloy tri-drop bars, should hopefully give ITB's cockpit more pop than she currently has and tie in the saddle better.

The BB; a Shimanno BB-UN26 sealed cartridge (68x110mm), should pull the chain line back into alignment. I was going to pick an S-Works stem (90mm) from CL; however, now I am rethinking the basic black stem and may shoot for white or even red (to pick-up the red on the bars) and finish the bar tape seal w/ red elec. tape.

Guess we will see how much $$ I have next payday to play. :)
Picked me up a set of Assos Winter Socks in grey off of Chainlove.com for $20.00. Supposed to be good from 45* to 23*.

So I got the app and have watched this and have yet to see Assos socks much less any name brand I have ever even heard of. I did see a vest that I had in my basket but backed out because I had never heard of the manufacturer and and even if I save 48% it's not a deal if it doesn't work. The only other name I have seen that I am familiar with has been Vittotia tires which as of this post is the Cross Evo XM II tubular @ 44.99 which they claim is 62% off. The one set of road tires i had been were without question the worst tires I have put on my road bike. I spent a ton of money on them as they came highly recommended. I could not wait for them to wear out. In the end I ended up just getting rid of them. It was like riding in flat tires...

I'm certianly not the cool, hip kid on the block ( and in fact the old curmudgeon :)) and it could be there is lots of good quality stuff and I'm just missing out. I had to laugh as I went to sign up for an account and was told that my email addy was already in use...so I logged in. Must have used this at some point in the past.

I'm gonna give the app another week and delete it if nothing decent (IMHO) pops up :)

Cool, quick and easy to dry out and not let your feet soak while on your commute home, as well as being cooler on those hot summer days.

Got this Sugoi jersey off of Chain Love for $26, today.
I needed another daily use jersey. Just got another pair of riding shorts from Motobecane, VERY comfortable.
Now I have 2 sets of daily use shorts and jerseys.

Been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks now. New jersey that my wife gave me for Father'sDay Day finally came in.

The back has the names of all the fallen deputies. I worked on two of them that were killed in a car crash responding to a double shooting.

Well; didn't quite wait for the weekend to toss the parts on to the bike! Now, I am dilema'd - bar tape; I like the white of the bars, would white tape on white bars be a sin???

Nice jersey. Meaningful given your connection. That's a great way to honor those lost in service.

I have black hoods now; however, they are a bit too big, so I am probably going to either run ITB full-time fixed - mainly just for the commute to and from work - and go sans brakes all together or I will pick up a new set of Aero hoods like I have on the Langster.
White wouldn't look too bad. What about that white and blue scatter color tape. That would look really cool!

I was thinking blue white; however, not scatter, I was thinking harlequin - I found this pic of one Yahoo and with smaller hoods or no hoods, I think this might be the trick..... but with a better wrap job :D

I've seen assos bibs, mavic bibs, five ten mtb shoes, Zoic mtb shorts, fox mtb shorts, zipp wheels, crankbrothers wheels, ect. If you sign up for their mailing list they kind of tell you what will be featured. Be patient. They do have some good deals on there if you just happen to see them. They do repeat items from time to time if they don't get sold.

I just visited the site and what do I see....
Just my luck ...
