You can learn a lot about someone by what they purchase.

How fast are you riding that you need "Z" rated tires? They look a little large as well ;)
Good eye!

They are actually rated ZY which is the fastest speed rating of any production tire. Rated 186mph+ (or what some people call "unlimited"), but I don't trust them much over 200mph on the Fat Bike........ ;)

Now all you need is your spoke wrenched and a decent truing stand and your good to go for repairing your wheels or even building your first set.

TT bikes are all the rage by me now, so I'm curious as to how it stacks up with its aerodynamic efficiency albeit with a weight penalty for climbing.

food for thought:

Standard bike/Racing bike/Quest velomobile

Power required to
travel 30 km/h 271 Watts 137 Watts 79 Watts

Speed on flat road
100 Watts 20.5 km/h 27 km/h 34 km/h

Speed on flat road
250 Watts 29 km/h 37.5 km/h 50 km/h

Speed on 5% uphill
150 Watts 9.7 km/h 11.6 km/h 9 km/h

Speed on 2% downhill
100 Watts 29.5 km/h 38.5 km/h 63.8 km/h

 Well, you damn sure don't have to worry about traffic seeing you now! BTW, since you sold the car, where does the wife and kids sit in this newfangled contraption?
Car is getting a pro detail this weekend to hit the market.

I drive my wife's Jetta and she has the Toyota Sienna. Her new job is starting soon which is 100% telework from home so she'll have the drop off duty in the AM with the exception of my 1 day a week telework when I do drop off. I usually do drop off and pick up with the trike with 1 of 2 trailers we have. In temps not conducive to it, we'll use her Sienna. The Strada does have a multifunction hitch on it to pull a trailer.

As far as my wife though, with her new bike (Giant Alight) she's smitten with it and I don't think she'll be trying the velomobile out at all!

I'm really, REALLY excited as my perception/reaction time has gotten bad enough whereas I am not comfortable travelling over 40 MPH in the dark and 50MPH in the day. I like riding everywhere, but I also want some semblance of weather protection (which now negates all of my $$$$$$$ outergarments).

I'm still going to keep my camera on me, I recorded a near miss yesterday (first day of school) with a car full of high school seniors. While I will have some more impact protection with the velomobile, I'd still rather have videos in the event of an accident.

The Strada would be great by you since it is so aerodynamic, here it will require a bit of work as it is so heavy.

Here, I'll throw this in just to sprinkle in a non-biking purchase.......recent new air intake purchase for the car and it required some custom piping to get from filter box to throttle body. Fortunately I have a big box of intake parts from the truck and car so I just fabbed up what I needed from parts on hand. Only having to buy a couple of black couplers for the MAF. Here is test fit pic from last nite after trimming the last piece of pipe to get ready to dial it in and install permanently...............

My new Leyzene Frame Pump arrived today to replace the one which got nicked from our bike parking area in the buildings garage last week. This one, comes with me where ever I go! :)
I work overnights and many of my rides will be in the middle of the night when I'm off work.

Picked these two up so the people in cages will know where to aim :D
