For five years +, we’ve been struggling with an old oven and its problems. It finally gave up the ghost last week.

It’s replacement arrived today. Of course, i didn’t install it, because it was a beautiful day for riding.

So, i threw a pork rump into the smoker, stoked it and went riding. Thankfully, it turned out great.

They hardly noticed this thing in the middle of the kitchen.

Oh yeah, the over head vent system went down the very next evening (after I purchased the oven). That’s next on the list.

The older I get I am amazed how appliances are actually enjoyable to shop for! How I have turned into my parents and swore I never would.

I believe most of us turn into our parents slowly.

If that is the case for me, I will live at least until I'm 98.

I hope your range fit your cabinet OK. We had to have our cabinet widened at the bottom because the range we bought was wider at the bottom that it was at the top bu almost 1/4". I guess their bending brake was a little off the day they made the base for my range. :)

@John_V, It is about an 1/8” narrower than the old one which the cabinets were built around .

Most people will never see it, but every time i walk past, i see the Grand Canyon.

Oh yeah, a day our two later, the hood went bad. Thinking smartly, my Bride and I replace IT, before putting in the new oven. Much easier than leaning over the oven.

HOWEVER, once the hood was installed, I immediately began assembling and attaching the new gas line on my hand and knees. When I finished, i stood up quickly right into the edge of the new hood. I nearly knocked myself out. It hurt soo bad.... all the way down the right side of my neck and across the meaty part of that shoulder.
I ended up with a half an egg sized knot and a 2” gash. Couldn’t cut my hair (which needed it) for two weeks, it hurt so bad.

I can laugh at the stupidity of it now, but at the moment s was furious with myself.

It may be months before I can take advantage of it, but I finally ordered a replacement 20" wheel for my Sun Recumbent. Though I'm on a medical hold at the moment, I want to have a bike ready to go when I can ride again. I fear I'll find it harder to return to my beloved diamond frames, but that's okay as long as I can get some kind of saddle time. Even a little.
