It needed a black 105....silly out of place silver one came on it........

Oval stem/bars/seatpost/seat/wheelset OK but crankset? Nah, black 105.............

14 or 16 degree flaired drop bars would be next & maybe WTB All Terrain 37s............

Can't tell, no price, looks like 105 2x11 setup..........deal of a lifetime? less than $500?

Thoughts on this bar tape for the fubars? (see bike above - olive drab)

Seems a bit over the top maybe. Will probably just go back with some black gel cork or super suede stuff...............

plus, I have new fr der, rr der, bars, tape, tires, tubes & cranks coming for a bike I just bought new last Saturday and now you want me to get a new seat too?  :)

Or get a new Brooke's saddle. Please never tell Sprocket I mentioned Brooke's nor recommend one nor spoke the name nor that I know the name nor that I have ever heard of Brooke's nor ever looked at one.
*Whispers really quietly, she hates them*
No worries. Just doesn't work for me....would have to be in Europe and on just the right bike for it not to be weird.

On a different note, this showed up day before yesterday for the Tread.............

The Gary Sweep OS bars showed up yesterday. They'll be waiting their turn. Cranks go on first after a BB is settled on. Adapter, press, adapter, press. Either way it'll change. Then some or a bunch of riding will occur before tearing whole thing up to swap bars, tape bars, restring cables, readjust brakes/shifters and all that jazz.

4 six bux I figured I couldn't go wrong with this bag for the Tread...............

....strap for tail light clip, camo to go with frame color, more room than the tiny Fox one, better access to get in it than the Fox one......

Well, gonna give this a try. Isn't a $400 one so we'll see how it works out. Looks promising. Will be handy for trips with kayaks above cab, bikes in rec hitch & have bed free for camping stuff/ez-up/whatever else or just bikes on back and bike stuff/clothes/ice chest covered/locked under tri-fold tonneau cover.

Rola Pro Series Q-Slot 2 bike carrier. Fits 1.25" & 2" hitches. Tilts for access to hatch or tailgate. Adjustable for different wheel sizes. Folds for storage. $120 normally $200..............(somebody here in the bike rack business? see product name)

Heard this was the good stuff.......mo parts mo phun.............3.2mm thick, for the Tread of course.

edit - went with 2.5mm instead of 3.2mm since already have oversize bars. 3.2mm would be good for those other offroad drop/sweep bars that are smaller diameter.

FYI & FWIW.....1.8, 2.5 & 3.2mm Lizardskin tape all have a little different pattern. 1.8 looks like plain perforated pattern, 2.5 has a smoother smaller perf look to it and 3.2 has a more crosshatch design to it. Above pic = 3.2. Pic below = 2.5

1.8 looks like this................

I got the thing yesterday and opened up box to check it out. It is definitely NOT the quality of any of these $400 hitch racks but it looks like it'll do for an extra option for the truck once in awhile whenever I could use the bedspace for other gear. It says the max load = 90 lbs. No 2 bikes of mine weigh near that. Yes, it came with the adapter thing so it'll fit both receivers. The problem I might have with it is how the hook things that hold bikes in place push down on top tube of bike to hold it. Some of my bikes have 3 cables across the top tube so I guess I'll come up with some piece of foam to go between cables and frame so they don't rub off paint. I have bed rings in the back of bed floor on each side and straps I could use to stabilize the rack. Also have cable locks to run thru bedrings to lock rack/bikes to truck and locking hitch pin. This one is made for 1.25" receiver with sleeve type adapter for it to fit 2". I'll be test fitting and test transporting a coupla my least favorite bikes to check it out this weekend..........hmmmm, which 2 are those?

Considering the Curt locking knobs for it............

Mounted up the $130 hitch rack this wknd for tst fit and tst drive with a coupla bikes on it. Overall, it'll be OK in a pinch when the bedspace is needed or for some odd reason I need to haul 5 bikes or more. Added a coupla tie down straps to bed rings for more stability and a rubber strap for a bit more. Bikes rode OK but I just prefer them be in the bed. For full meal deal camping trip with kayaks, bikes & camping gear this rack will come in handy tho............I did move the trays around a bit and got things more centered.

That's what I'm talkin about! - road bike, discs, fat road tires = comfort express multi-surface roadster hybrid FTW. No reflectors needed with the visibility of that color, lol. (I see whatcha doin here......set the wife up with a new trick pony so you can score next) ;) :D Work it.........

Went ahead and scored the thicker 3.2mm lizardskin dsp tape for the smaller diameter drop flare bars in case I go with those during next week's chain/cranks/bar tape swap day.........I'll use the 2.5mm stuff if I stay with the oversize bars that came on the bike.
